Centralized Excited States and Fast Radiation Transitions Reduce Laser Threshold in Carbon Dots (Small 24/2023)

چکیده
Centralized Excited States The decrease in the laser threshold of blue-emissive carbon dots (B-CDs) is attributed to increase radiation transition rate and centralized sp3-related excited state levels, which are favorable for light amplification population inversion. Excited state spectroscopy in carbon nanotube double quantum dots.
We report on low-temperature measurements in a fully tunable carbon nanotube double quantum dot. A new fabrication technique has been used for the top-gates in order to avoid covering the whole nanotube with an oxide layer as in previous experiments. The top-gates allow us to form single dots and control the coupling between them, and we observe 4-fold shell filling. We perform inelastic transp...
متن کاملElectronic excited states in bilayer graphene double quantum dots.
We report tunneling spectroscopy experiments on a bilayer graphene double quantum dot device that can be tuned by all-graphene lateral gates. The diameter of the two quantum dots are around 50 nm and the constrictions acting as tunneling barriers are 30 nm in width. The double quantum dot features additional energies on the order of 20 meV. Charge stability diagrams allow us to study the tunabl...
متن کاملExcited Binomial States and Excited Negative Binomial States of the Radiation Field and Some of their Statistical Properties
Abstract:We introduce excited binomial states and excited negative binomial states of the radiation field by repeated application of the photon creation operator on binomial states and negative binomial states. They reduce to Fock states and excited coherent states in certain limits and can be viewed as intermediate states between Fock states and coherent states. We find that both the excited b...
متن کاملUltrafast supercontinuum spectroscopy of carrier multiplication and biexcitonic effects in excited states of PbS quantum dots.
We examine the population dynamics of multiple excitons in PbS quantum dots using spectrally resolved ultrafast supercontinuum transient absorption (SC-TA) measurements. We simultaneously probe the first three excitonic transitions. The transient spectra show the presence of bleaching of absorption for the 1S(h)-1S(e) transition, as well as transients associated with the 1P(h)-1P(e) transition....
متن کاملControl of multiple excited image states around segmented carbon nanotubes.
Electronic image states around segmented carbon nanotubes can be confined and shaped along the nanotube axis by engineering the image potential. We show how several such image states can be prepared simultaneously along the same nanotube. The inter-electronic distance can be controlled a priori by engineering tubes of specific geometries. High sensitivity to external electric and magnetic field...
